Two important updates in relation to the current weather conditions.

A404/M40 Handy Cross roundabout works and closure POSTPONED this weekend

Transport for Bucks advise that due to the poor weather forecast for the coming weekend, the planned resurfacing works at the Handy Cross A404/M40 junction 4 roundabout in High Wycombe have been postponed (Friday 2nd to Monday 5th March).  The roundabout and approach roads were due to be closed for a third weekend running for continuing resurfacing works.

Highways England has liaised with Buckinghamshire County Council, Wycombe District Council and Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to re-programme the works for the weekend of Friday 16th March (9pm Friday to 5am Monday 19th), and apologise for any inconvenience caused.  Highways England will provide advanced warning signage on site to inform motorists before the rescheduled works start.

Refuse Collections: 1st & 2nd March, 2018

Please note from WDC regarding refuse collections:

We’ve taken the decision with Serco Management that conditions are unsafe and present a risk to crews and the public.  Road conditions are dangerous for crews to operate. Ice on the roads and underfoot is forming, including roads that were gritted in the Cressex/Booker area of High Wycombe.

Contingency Plans

Crews will report to work as normal tomorrow morning (Friday 2 March). Assuming weather conditions allow, work will continue as per Friday’s collection schedule. We will catch up work we have had to drop today with extra collections on Saturday 3 March. Tipping arrangements with BCC are subject to agreement.  This approach will minimise the disruption for our residents. Obviously this contingency is subject to conditions allowing crews to get out on collections tomorrow morning . We will make an and assessment tomorrow morning.

Our advice to residents is to leave containers that are due for collection out ready for anticipated pick up and that delays are likely.

We are publishing regular updates on our website and social media channels and will also alert Wycombe Sound with updates.  Crews are today using the time to undertake training, tool box sessions and inductions as appropriate.
