Flackwell Heath Residents’ Association (FHRA) invite you to come along to the Flackwell Heath Christmas Lights and Carols 2016

You are invited on Saturday 26th November to start the Village Festive Spirit with a sparkle.

Family festivities begin at 3pm with a tea party for primary school age children, whilst everyone else enjoys soft drinks and biscuits in the Community Centre. Children will be able to visit Father Christmas in his Grotto, to whisper their Christmas presents wish list.

Entry £1 per primary age child on the door when children will be given entry tickets to see Father Christmas – hopefully this ensures no-one is disappointed and we avoid any Bah-Humbug-ing in queues.

At around 4.30pm we’d like everyone to wrap up warmly and make their way outside and join others at a service in Jubilee Garden beginning at 5pm.

Our Christmas decorations light up the village centre while Rev Chris Bull leads the service, the West Wycombe Brass Band plays the music and we’ll all join together and sing. There’ll be Carol sheets given out, so remember to bring a torch to read by!

The village Christmas Tree lights will be switched on by the winners of the schools colouring competition before we invite you all back into the Community Centre for mulled wine (for the adults), juice and mince pies. All those competition entries will be on display and Father Christmas will be there if any children missed seeing him earlier.

We are hoping that all the village businesses get involved with the Festive Shop Window competition making the village look its Festive best throughout the holiday season.

FHRA has worked on a plan for the replacement and improvement of the village lights over the past 5 years and this year sees new lights in the trees outside Aries House (centre of the village). These lights and their fittings are really expensive, over £1,000 this year, so we’ve asked local shops and businesses for a contribution. A big Thank You to those who have.

Unfortunately, we still have a way to go, so if you feel you can help, pop your contribution into the collecting tins at the Christmas Lights event on 26th November – help light up your village in future years.

We look forward to seeing you there.
